From beginner lessons to national competitions, Hillmar Farm welcomes all levels of riders. Owning a horse is not required to join our family; Hillmar Farm has a variety of horses available to fit your riding needs. When you are ready to find an equine partner of your own, you can have confidence that our trainer will pair you with the perfect match.
Academy Program
At Hillmar Farm, we enjoy starting beginner riders off right! All students are taught the basics of flatwork and dressage (walk, trot, and canter) and then progress towards learning how to jump. Riders are mounted on one of our experienced lesson horses, who each provide unique lessons for their riders. As students progress, they may have the opportunity to take one of our horses to a local show to get a taste of showing or to lease or purchase their own horse. Lessons are kept to privates or small groups to ensure individualized attention. We believe in teaching students from the ground up, emphasizing horsemanship through lessons on horse care, proper care of equipment, and other topics.
To ensure the safety of our students, we require that each student has their own appropriately fitted, approved helmet and riding boots.
